And here’s a test to check if we can still distinguish generated images from regular photos! The obvious tells, like 7 fingers on a hand are mostly gone, and to my surprise I did better when I made a guess based on gut feeling than when I tried to look for clues. This stage of machine hallucination is uncomfortable: the images are still different, but not in a goofy way anymore. The highest score I got was barely above 80%, so we will need to look much closer at the context and the origin of the images to know the difference, and trust that generated images are labeled as such.
