Diary comics, part 2

Small life events, big world events.

Diary comic, 1 panel. A woman with a red hat, scarf and a navy coat is standing in the snowfall, covered in snow on the head and shoulders.
What a nice walk.

Diary comics, 2 panels. Panel 1: A woman wearing short hair, sweater and jeans is standing in front of a colorful painting in a museum. Her expression is solemn. There are 3 other paintings in the background. Panel 2: The woman is standing in the same spot, slightly smiling, as the colors of the painting form little bubbles that float towards and into her.
Some exhibitions are for color therapy, especially during the grey winters of Berlin. I visited the Maurice de Vlaminck exhibition (and the impressionist collection on the next floor) at the Museum Barberini in Potsdam.

Diary comics, 4 panels. Panel 1: A woman is reading from an ebook reader on the couch, sitting. There's a large plant on the left of the couch. Panel 2: A woman is reading from an ebook reader on the couch, now leaning over. There's a large plant to the left of the couch. Panel 3: A woman is reading from an ebook reader on the couch, now leaning lower on her elbow. There's a large plant to the left of the couch. Panel 4: A woman is reading from an ebook reader on the couch, now lying down on some pillows. There's a large plant to the left of the couch.
I got sucked into the world of Sangu Mandanna: The Very Secret Society of Irregular Witches. And cheers for borrowing ebooks from the library!

Diary comics, single panel. A jar of red cabbage sauerkraut, the purple brine leaking out and pooling around the jar. Caption: How to tell when the sauerkraut is almost done
I have yet to figure out how to keep all the brine inside the jar.

Diary comics, 4 panels. Panel 1: Julia is sitting and waiting, wearing a facemask. Caption: I'm sitting in the waiting room of a doctor's office, I'll have 3 tests. Which means the nurse has to call my name 3 times. Panel 2: Julia is looking at the speech bubble of the nurse that says 'Rasko.' Caption: Close enough. Panel 3: Julia is sitting with her head tilted, and looking at the speech bubble that says 'Raksko!' Caption: Common mispronounciation. Panel 4: Julia is sitting and holding her arm. The nurse's speech bubble says: Raso? Rasho? Rakas? Caption: Really? Low point. Until she couldn't find a vein.
Not the best morning. It's pretty funny how it got worse, not better, with time.

Diary comics, or rather a sketch. First drawing: Julia's hands reach to a tiny jumping dog who's on a leash held by a man standing behind the dog. Second drawing: Julia, a woman wearing a long coat, bends down to pet a tiny jumping dog who's on a leash held by a man standing on the side.
Who's my favorite neighbor? This hyped-up fluffball! Same image, 6 months apart, from my visual diary

Delicate line drawing of a woman rushing, her scarf is blowing in the wing. She's staring at her phone. There's a huge wave of water forming behind and above her.
Self-portrait of the artist trying to out-navigate fascism, pen drawing on cheap paper, January 2025.

That’s it for now. I’m still inking the pigeon comics too, but this is a longer scene, and I don’t want to cut it in half between emails.

Take care,

Julia
