Yes! It’s real! This September I am lucky enough to have my first-ever solo gallery show: Page Turns. Featuring more than 25 pieces of art, including work from my upcoming debut picture book, Page Turns explores the art of picture-book making.
It’ll be hanging in the CAP ArtSpace in the Tompkins History Center on the Commons all month, but if you want to eat some snacks and see some secret sketchbook pieces, come to the opening of the show on September 5th, this coming Friday! I’ll be there from 5–8 pm, talking about books and eating tasty snacks :)
I could not be more excited, honestly. I spent the first three months of this year feverishly illustrating work I couldn’t show to anyone. I’m incredibly proud of what I made and I can’t wait to share it with y’all!
This project is made possible, in part, with SOS grant funding from The Community Arts Partnership of Tompkins County. I received a grant to help offset some of the costs of framing a massive show like this and without it, it wouldn’t have happened.
Hope to see y’all there! Thank you to everyone reading this for your ongoing support—this show wouldn’t have happened without you!
Yours in paint splatters,
Julian
