📕 Papillon — Henri Charrière
This autobiographical novel written by Henri Charrière (Papillon), published in 1969, covers a 14-year period where Papillon gets incarcerated and escapes several times from the most brutal prisons in South America.
I saw that the remake of the Papillon movie, with Rami Malek (!), was on Netflix, so I decided to read the book first. I thought it was very good. Better than the movie even, although that was good too. I do think it would’ve worked better as a mini-series, because for the movie they re-wrote his adventures left many thing out.

My daughter and I have been watching this series on Disney+ for the past few weeks and I really liked it! I can’t believe how I missed this series a few years ago. The stories are so well written, covering classic mysteries, myths, ’80s references and more. And each episode has hidden cryptograms!
