Inspired By #113

Hi! My name is Jan-Paul and this is where I share all the things that inspire me.
Travis Price
Travis Price is an Australian illustrator, designer, and muralist with a (slightly obsessive) fascination for T-shirts.

Not only does he do great illustration work, he also designs fonts. His latest release, Sure Shot, is inspired by hand-painted sale signs, show cards, and the kind of lettering that used to stop you in your tracks.

I instantly bought Sure Shot + Band Stand and made a quick poster celebrating Owen Cutt’s Old Music Friday:

PROOOOF — EXIF data is beautiful
Proooof by Ty Finck adds a beautifully minimal EXIF strip to your photos: shutter speed, aperture, focal length, GPS — all the nerdy good stuff. You can toggle what you show, tweak the colors, and pick a layout.

Read more about Ty’s process here (and how he used AI / Claude Code to build it).
I love seeing people ship simple, well-designed apps. 🥰
St. Paul & The Broken Bones (Live at Southern Grooves)
I’ve been listening to this album a lot lately — and you should too if you love big soul energy and incredible vocals.

Archive of Archives
A curated collection of digital archives by SHAPE.
Lots of gems here: a tribute to the Walkman, vintage Marvel title lettering, chrome car typography, even rotating sandwiches. Easy to get lost in this one.

Central Type
A Chicago-based type foundry by Mark Butchko that I recently came across.

I especially like Central Script (a non-connecting script) and Dug (a bottom-heavy, ultra-bold display family).

Hoping to use one of these in a future sketch.

UI details
A great collection of small frontend UI details that make interfaces feel better.
Perfect to go through with engineers if you don’t code yourself. There’s even a Claude Code skill at the bottom to apply these ideas in your own projects.

Don’t watch the trailer. Just go see this movie in a cinema now. And read the book too.
