The Deuce, starring James Franco and Maggie Gyllenhaal, explores the pioneering moments of the American sex industry. I just started watching season 3 and I love it.
New York is shown, from the 70s to the 80s, with pimps, hookers, cops and mobsters, all great characters in a very compelling story. From David Simon best known for his work on The Wire.
