Self Tapes on a Budget for Trans/Queer Actors

This is a sliding scale ($0-$15) workshop for trans and gender non-conforming artists, to learn how to audition from home using whatever equipment you have. Learn audition best practices and reading strategies. Finish the workshop by creating a sample self-tape and submitting it for professional feedback.   Jen Olivares (she/they) is a two-spirit actor, dancer, singer, and transmedia maker, seen on Bull, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, and as a two-time ABC Discovers finalist.

This is a crash course in personal statements, project proposals and finding opportunities to submit to. Learn how to talk yourself up and how to propose your project plausibly to win the (grant/opportunity!)   Maddox Pennington(he/they) is Director of Education for the Joy Who Lived Festival, part of the LA Writer’s Workshop at Center Theater Group and a Teaching Artist for the Observers Program. His next project is the Generation Now Theater commission, Picture Day.
