The Semester Wrap-up: A Journey through 1 Peter 1:17-21
In the business of closing out this semester, I have not had the opportunity to finish the 3rd part of “The Story of God’s Name” series. My time has primarily been devoted to finishing the final paper for my class, “1 Peter 1:17-21 - A Commentary on Literary Context and Rhetorical Dynamics.” As I showed in the first and second newsletters titled “Zingers in 1 Peter,” the letter is full of poetic and rhetorically compelling statements.
1 Peter 1:17-21 is one of the most succinct, poetic, and sweeping summaries of the Gospel in the New Testament. By God’s grace, I often came away from writing this final paper with the words of the disciples on the road to Emmaus, “Did not our hearts burn within us as He spoke to us on the road, as he opened the Scriptures to us?” (Luke 24:32). I pray that my commentary on these verses can lead you into a similar experience.

P.S. Expect to hear more about God's name next week!
