Four feathers from a black and white bird are scattered on my landlords' porch, next to the cat hotel. There's no sign of the rest of the bird. I don't know if it landed there on its own or was dragged there involuntarily. If the cats are any good at tracking and attacking, it would be purely by instinct. They've grown up in a world where humans lay out kibble for them, so they wouldn't have needed to learn to hunt.

Home Front Command is telling us, though, that there may be more worrying things in the sky.¹ Iran has launched a couple of waves of drones our way. They would take a couple of hours to get here. Our bomb shelters would be just as effective against them as against other things.

So we continue as we were, listening for sirens and staying aware of where the nearby shelters are.

As a family member just quoted Ambassador Kosh, "And so, it begins."²

And all this just as I got my home network functioning again. Drat.

More news as it happens. Or, ideally, fails to happen.
