I feel urgently compelled to spread the word / share my joy:
TXT.FYI is BACK, BABY!
That’s right, “the dumbest publishing platform on the web” (in its own glorious, honest words) is accepting posts again after mysteriously shutting down in 2022.
“Posts” is too strong a word. Technically speaking, Txt.fyi is a pastebin: you type/drop chunks of plain text into a box, press PUBLISH and it appears on a flat, unformatted page. That’s it.
And yet for some inexplicable reason it feels to me like more than that. Like an infinite pad of Post-It notes, a bottomless supply of bottles to put messages in and throw into the ocean, a consequence-free restroom wall to impulsively deface, a factory for sending fortune-cookie surprises to your future self. Also, search engines don't crawl it—so anything you put there stays hidden in infinity, like a book in The Library of Babel.
But that’s all post-hoc rationalizing. The honest truth is: having txt.fyi back makes me feel like a dog who’s just rediscovered his favorite old tennis ball under the deck. So this is just me dropping it in front of you and wagging my tail like an blissful idiot. Enjoy!
