That NY Magazine Article, New TCT just dropped!

To celebrate the first anniversary of The Critic’s Table, use the code ONEYEAR to subscribe! New York Magazine also honored the milestone (not intentionally) with a feature marking CULTURED’s ascendance. I can’t say I’m crazy about the portrayal overall, though TCT certainly comes out looking good:

CULTURED Mag EIC and founder Sarah Harrelson stands at long dinner table with seated guests and flower arrangements, extending her arm out as though pointing to someone out-of-frame. Behind her is a poster-sized reproduction of a magazine cover featuring Fran Leibowitz

If you read the article and know anything about magazines, you may detect some ironies, shall we say, in the skepticism and shade expressed re: CULTURED’s content, credibility, and revenue streams. But it’s an interesting read and, while you’re at the NYMag site, be sure to read “I’m on My 3rd Jar of This Surprising Nonclogging Moisturizer” or literally anything by art critic Jerry Saltz.

Meanwhile, today for TCT we published Brian Droitcour’s digital art roundup (gift link) in which he discusses Porpentine at haul, Mindy Seu’s book, and Sarah Friend’s work at Sculpture Center. Brian and I have been friends since the golden age of Twitter. He commissioned and edited my piece on Lana Del Rey X Maleficent for The New Inquiry more than a decade ago, as well as my account of appearing on House of Cards with Pussy Riot for Art in America.
