Jarrett Earnest on Charli XCX, More Joan Semmel

The Critics’ Table expands coverage to include pop phenomena with Jarrett on the conceptual denouement of Charli’s seemingly interminable brat summer in the winter blockbuster (maybe?) The Moment. Imagine our glee when his decisive critical take was amplified by the star herself!
I made a little reel, or rather Paloma Baygual did, of me talking about Joan Semmel’s Jewish Museum show in the gallery here, to accompany my short Cultured/Critics’ Table review here. These things are embarrassing, but everyone tells me this is what the people want…
Anyway, while I was talking (whispering) to Paloma, I remembered that I wrote about Semmel at more length previously, for 4Columns, and thought I would share that too.
Next week (I think), more pop coverage: look out for my profile of PEACHES online! (It will also be in the next print issue of Cultured.) x
