Hot Girl(s for Zohran) Summer, Summer of Zohran, What Are We Calling This Season?

Lisa Yuskavage’s drawing show opens at the Morgan Library on Friday, and to mark the occasion, CULTURED has produced a limited-edition cover for the summer issue, featuring the artist’s painting PieFace, 2008. Inside, you’ll find my interview with her. (It’s also online, no paywall.)

A painting by Lisa Yuskavage showing a young woman, nude except for thigh-high stockings and underwear. She clutches a bouquet, standing in front of a celadon green gauzy curtain. It is the cover of Cultured Magazine's summer art & food issue

For today’s issue of TCT, I wrote about Jane and Louise Wilson at 303. I had never seen their 1994 motel-room hypnosis video before. Also, I’m very excited about Zoë Hopkins’s piece on Torkwase Dyson (Brooklyn Bridge Park) and Paige K. Bradley’s review of N.H.Pritchard (Peter Freeman), which both appear in the same set of In Brief reviews.

Two young white women with dark hair are shown sitting side-by-side in front of a yellow wall (identical twin artists Jane and Louise Wilson). The image is a still from grainy video footage shot in a motel room.

And last week (alongside John Vincler on the 56 Henry Group show, and Blakey Bessire on Kyoko Idetsu at Bridget Donahue), I wrote about Julien Nguyen at Matthew Marks—that show closes on Saturday, so make your way there after the heat wave if you haven’t seen it yet.

A small oil painting on copper with a metallic frame. It shows a young man, no body hair, reclining with one leg up and smoking a cigarette. The background is yellow. The figure is Nikos, a frequent subject of Juline Nguyen's work.

And those are all the hot girls I have for you today. Stay cool!
