An Award Nomination, a New Review
Did you hear that I’m an ASME finalist? For three pieces I wrote for Cultured? A piece on Cameron Rowland’s DIA show, my Aspen diary, and my account of the September openings in New York. (Scroll down to “Reviews and Criticism” and you’ll find I’m in good company.) I love my post-Penske, post-New Yorker writing career where I do whatever I want and get recognition for it!

On that note, for the Critics’ Table this week, despite it being an eventful month so far in the art world for big exhibitions, I decided to write about a little show in a vacant MTA newsstand: At Emmelines, Harrison Kinnane Smith puts two works by Louise Lawler at the center of a conceptual investigation. Read to the end for my hot takes on the Whitney Biennial and MoMA’s guy Leon Black.
