Track-By-Track: BSU #08
8+ minutes of squiggly, swirling psychedelia that truly lives up to its astounding cover art. Squirrels On Film (wonderful name) is an SF label, co-run by Solar, that puts out challenging, cross-genre oddities – the kind that when you play them out it means the party must be going *really* well.
This tune is one of the more chilled out affairs on the label. Obviously all parts of it are precise and beautiful in their own ways, but for me it's the little splashy percussion spiralling up and down softly in the background that really makes it. It's an outlier and I love it.
Check out the Zonetech EP on the SOF bandcamp too for some cold cold electro-fuzz.

Note: this is an entry in the Track-By-Track series for my mix for Butter Side Up.
Track-By-Track is a series that looks back at records you will have heard in my mixes, one by one in the order they were played. Who made them, and when? How did I come across them? And what do they make me feel?
