DJ Sotofett @ Lisa (11/11/23)
We arrived at Lisa around 11.30pm, later than planned after a highly delayed dinner (O Raposo for the curious — good but slow and a little expensive) and a bit of a wait outside. Thanks to the kind of street they’re on — narrow-to-non-existent pavement and a single lane of intermittent traffic — neither Lisa nor Vago, its sister institution next door (a “listening bar” that’s more of a nice cocktail bar with fancy speakers you can’t hear very well), has the wherewithal to control the throngs of dressed-up people that amass on Rua das Gaivotas seemingly every night. So the queueing system is rather opaque, as is the door policy, if there is one. Lisa in fact sells advance tickets, which you’d think might give them more control over the walk-ups at the door, but then again you can’t stop idiots from buying tickets.
I’m getting ahead of myself though.
