Mind Game, slime game
Book. Out. Soon.
Hope Leap Day is treating you well. We are so! close! to the Mind Game launch — it’s next Tuesday, March 5. I can’t believe it.
If you haven’t already, please consider preordering my book from the publisher, Barnes and Noble, Amazon, Astoria Bookshop, Bookshop.org, or wherever else you fancy. Plus, here’s a free way to help out: Ask your local library to stock a hard copy, an ebook, or both.
I’m excited to be in conversation with fellow sportswriter Bradford William Davis at my hometown Astoria Bookshop on Tuesday night. That has filled up, but I’ll be sure to post about any future events here.
Slime game
A couple of weeks ago, I had the pleasure of attending the new off-Broadway one-man show The Life and Slimes of Marc Summers. I wrote about the part memoir, part interactive game show (lol) and its iconic Nickelodeon and Food Network star for Inside Hook. The piece is one of my favorites in recent memory. (Shockingly, it dives into mental health.)
Longtime followers of my work may remember I enjoy writing on the Nickelodeon beat. Here’s a 2019 Ringer profile of Summers and a 2022 Sports Illustrated look at how Nick has been immersing itself in sports like football and golf.
Be well. You’ll hear from me again on book-launch day. Eek!
