I can’t recognize your face
Some Mind Game updates, plus my latest Washington Post book review!
Happy December! My book, Mind Game: An Inside Look at the Mental Health Playbook of Elite Athletes, comes out March 5. That’s kinda soon! Have you preordered it from your store of choice yet? Preorders mean a TON to authors and publishing houses alike, so thanks for considering.
I’m also working on setting up a launch event in New York and will let you know here when I have details. If you don’t live near me, I’d love to send you a signed bookplate to stick in your copy. Get me your address and I’ll drop one in the mail.
There should be plenty of interviews about Mind Game on the way, but here’s an early one if you want to psych yourself up. I recently talked to the Athletes OnBalance podcast about my work on the book and my four years covering mental health for Sports Illustrated. Give it a watch or listen:
Not-my-book news
I just reviewed someone else’s cool new book for The Washington Post about faceblindness and its opposite, super recognition. The book is called Do I Know You? by Sharrona Pearl. I was stoked to read this one because, as you may already know, I’m super faceblind myself. It’s hard for me to recognize anyone, including close friends and family members. Oops! Please don’t take it personally.
Let’s all wear name tags everywhere,
Julie
