šæ Full EP out today: In The Dark
Hello listener-readers. Today I come to you with brief but exciting news.
I have a new EP out today called In The Dark
The three singles youāve heard so far, and now one 8-minute double-song you havenāt. āWilderin / In The Depthsā that bridges the dark beginning tracks with the lighter ending. I encourage you to revisit all 4 tracks in their intended context.

Thanks for listening
If you listen, Iād love to know what you think. Feel free to reply to this email or contact me which/however way. I hope to start playing these songs around town in the coming months. This newsletter will be a decent place to be aware of when thatāll be.
Whatās next?
Iāve been thinking of using this newsletter as a place to document musical output, but not just with final songs.
Something thatās been on my mind is the fact that these songs undergo so many iterations from scraps of voice memos, different arrangement ideas, acoustic versions, smashing different song ideas together. Often lots of non-music inspiration too. Eventually you get a published song, but thereās so much to talk about along the way before arriving at a published audio file. The time that it takes is admittedly sort of forced by my lifestyle. I have a day-job and am a parent. Often an idea happens and gets captured then gets jarred and placed in the cellar to age. I go off and tend to other things for a while. After some time, I come back down to examine what I left. Sometimes the ideas sound different than when I left them.
Anyways, Iād like to write more about this process of song-making as a non-full-time-musician. Still figuring out what that might look like.

or⦠how it feels sometimes
Next time expect some more reflecting on āIn The Darkā as an EP. As well as looking ahead: talking through the current season of generative song-making Iām in right now. And balancing it with everything else.
