π¦ Mgahinga Gorilla National Park is Uganda's smallest national park, covering 33.9 square kilometres across the high-altitude Virunga Volcanic Range in southwestern Uganda.

ποΈ Establishment: Originally gazetted as a game sanctuary in 1930.
π National Park Status: Upgraded to national park status in 1991 to protect its mountain gorilla population and endemic wildlife.
π Virunga Massif: Forms part of the continuous transboundary Virunga Conservation Area, joining Volcanoes National Park in Rwanda and Virunga National Park in DRC.

From Kigali (Rwanda): Approximately 140 km (3.5 to 4 hours drive) crossing via the Cyanika border post.
