Navigating with You Volume 2

So, some big news broke last month after I had already sent too many emails about Zoop stuff, but I figured you all would want to know:

The cover for Navigating with You Volume 2. Neesha and Gabby stand back to back in the middle, holding hands across a divide between beach and street. Both of them also hold hands with only partially seen other characters who are pulling them away from the center.

I have been working on it for a year already and had to stay mum about it, but Navigating with You is getting a sequel that picks up right from the end of the first one. Gabby is back in Miami with her family and trying to readjust. Neesha is getting back to social and political activism and making a new group of troublemaking friends. It’s both of their senior year, full of both expected and unexpected challenges, but they’re trying to keep their relationship and book club meetings going. But when they have trouble finding a new manga series to read together, an exciting new option arises - their favorite Manga creator is working with an anime studio to adapt another idea of hers. Now they can have anime dates!

If you loved the first book, this is very much in the same spirit and I’m sure you will love it! For better or worse, my old art team has moved on to other exciting projects, so there is a new crew on board to draw (except the cover, which Claudio was able to contribute). The new volume is drawn by Felia Hanakata, colored by Linden Cahill, and lettered by Jodie Troutman. It really is a dream team. The art feels a little different, but I think in a way that’s perfect for this volume. Everybody looks a little older and a little more grown up.

Zoop Update

All of the pages are colored, Slay is lettered, and I have just set up things with Taylor Esposito (who already lettered Slay) to get The Girlfriend Survives lettered. Aside from that, there’s just some small formatting on interior covers and whatnot to finish and he books should be good to go.

I Just got the info from Zoop on who ordered what, most of which they will handle, but if you asked for a commission or an editorial review and you haven’t heard from me yet, please check your email and if you can’t find an email about it, please reach out. I’ve sent the team all of their commission requests and I’ve reached out to my editorial reviews. As soon as I have a few more things off my desktop, I will set to work on those (assuming you get back to me. I think there is one person I haven’t heard back from yet).

School for Extraterrestrial Girls Book 3

The cover for School for Extraterrestrial Girls Volume 3 has our heroes floating in space with evil alien shadows closing in around them.

The third book of S4ETG is available from me and Jamie Noguchi in May, but you can pre-order it from your favorite bookstore right now! If you can’t get to your favorite bookstore of just want to support me a little extra, you can preorder through my BookShop affiliate link.

It’s full of big alien fun, teen angst, and maybe just a little bit of feel good romance. Maybe. No promises.

The Dog Knight

Just got the last of the layouts/rough pencils for book 3. Melissa is locking in the last of the colors on book 2, so hopefully we’ll see a cover reveal for book 2 soon! It’s scheduled to drop during the first quarter of next year, with 3 being ready to drop a year after that.

I forgot that I had written a little tribute to my own passed on pouch Ace in the last chapter of volume 3, so seeing the pencils for that come in yesterday absolutely wrecked me. My wife found me sobbing over my keyboard, then I made her read it and she started sobbing. We were a mess.
