i thought it was part of the Le Guin essay, but it's actually part of Donna Haraway's excellent introduction to the excellent essay. i realized this morning when i went to reread it, to let it soak in a bit more. apologies! the silver lining of this is now i have looked up Haraway, whose name i didn't know, and apparently she is famously the author of
A Cyborg Manifesto that is grounded in feminist theory and scholarship, which i now must absolutely read! one thing continues to lead to another, and i'm enjoying making my way down this bread-crumb trail. who knows where it will lead next?
