on saturday i had a small gathering to celebrate my birthday. it was weeks after the fact because i felt really weird celebrating anything. i even had a weird fantasy that everyone would forget and not show up and we all could just forget it ever was supposed to happen. but people did show up, and we enjoyed each others company, cookies and pizza. self-isolating and not allowing even small moments of joy and celebration are acts of self-harm and that’s something i have to continue catching myself from taking part in. from the conversations i’ve had with different folks over the past month, i know i’m not alone. if you feel similarly, go to your local bakery, get a box of long jellies and read some email.
what’s new 🆕
i started an llc! that’s doing paperwork (derogatory), please clap! by the next live laugh email, i will have a web page on the internet from which you could purchase my art and candles :)
i also started a weekly retrospective series on my blog, basically a photo journal with links to things i liked that week. a blog, for the uninitiated, is like a newsletter but on a webpage instead of in an email. i have considered an rss-to-email integration for livelaugh.blog but i’m not sure if it’s worth the added cost onto this buttondown account (which i do love btw). let me know what you think!

3/10 (monday) robot karaoke is back @ wonderville. we have new songs, a cool visual dataset of magic the gathering cards, and there are some cool new cabs on the floor.
3/11 (tuesday) jerseyscript meets again at hudson hound. bring your fellow developer pals and hang out with us - we’ll be in the back at the end of the bar.
