I’ve been actively writing code with AI for about 8 months now. I’ve formed many of the opinions and strategies for this series based on those experiences.

One of the things I’m very confident about is how dramatically my speed has increased. But when someone asked me what that meant, I didn’t have a good answer. I definitely felt like I was knocking out dozens of features in the time it would have taken me to do just one in the past, but I didn’t have any real metrics.

I can tell you this: coding to me now feels more like throwing laundry in the washing machine than it feels like washing my clothes by hand. Even if it takes the same amount of time (it doesn’t), I can now do other things while it’s happening.
