I’ve done this myself. I’m writing a new code block, and I need data from one of my API endpoints. So I call the endpoint, and get “not found” errors. I assumed I had already build the endpoint earlier (as I should have.)
Artificial intelligence does this as well, and we call it a hallucination. In many cases, it’s just making assumptions about things it expected to be true.
At one point, I changed my admin user account credentials on my dev server to match what AI was convinced it should be. It was easier than correcting it every. single. time.
