Last Friday marked the 50th episode of Typography News. I didn’t really take much time to reflect on the milestone before or during the livestream, but it really is something I am proud to have achieved.

The main reason I had no time to reflect is because it was an absolutely jam-packed episode with two betas, twelve (TWELVE!) new releases, and two deep dives.

The other reason is that I spent the first part of the week testing out as many color fonts as I could in Affinity 3.2, which introduced the ability to customize COLRv0 and COLRv1 fonts in ways that no other desktop application currently can. It’s definitely not perfect, but when it works, it’s pretty amazing!

Tomorrow (Tuesday, April 28) I will be livestreaming Typography News No. 51 with two deep dives I’m very excited for: Baskerville Sans by Storm Type Foundry and Dargon by TypeTogether.
