Poppies in Portland, homestead decluttering in Miami

Hello friends,

Since I moved into my house in 2008, there have always been poppies that bloomed in my front yard in May. These dramatic displays have always been exciting, and I am grateful to the previous owners and to my neighbor Jen for planting them. It feels so decadent to enjoy their splendor when I haven't done a thing to make them happen.

In April, I spent quite a bit of time in Florida, first on a visit to relatives on the Gulf Coast, and then down to Miami for a thorough clearing and decluttering of our family's home (est. 1963) so my dad can get ready to sell it.

Boca Ciega

We had a beautiful view on Boca Ciega, St. Pete Beach, Florida. We even got to do a boat tour of the Intracoastal Waterway, which was fabulous.

I'm on a boat!

In Miami, my siblings + my dad spent 4 days clearing things out. Almost everything went, including the famous artificial snowmaker that graced our Christmas tree every year.

We did keep photos like this one of me and Bob, classic big sister/little brother pose.

And we did reward ourselves with a dip in the pool after all the hard work was done!

Hope all is well with you! Send me updates about you, kids, pets, whatever! I miss you on Facebook, but I don't miss Facebook!

xoxo, Jean
