Finally clicked that Facebook delete button

Hi friends,

It's the first email friendsletter--a newsletter for friends.

As I mentioned in my original post, explaining why I am leaving Facebook, this is intended to be the opposite of the typical email list:

I’ve turned off all the tracking and stats on this account, because it’s not intended to be a list for marketing. It’s just a low tech way for people to keep up-to-date. And if you reply, I’ll answer you back.

I do have access to the subscriber list, but I'm not mentally keeping track of who has signed up. If you unsubscribe, I won't know. And I've turned off all the tracking. Just like friendly emails between people.

My plan is also to make these short! That way, I won't procrastinate writing them, and you won't procrastinate reading them.

So my Facebook account will be deleted in 30 days, now that I've clicked the button. I removed the app from my devices. I wrote a blog post with some tips if you are thinking about doing the same.

And I got some new photos of me, Grace, and Ada to celebrate! (You might have to click "load images" or something like that to see the photo below.)

Keep in touch,

Jean
