Sedona Sedona, Arizona - New Years Eve 2020 - Minolta X-570, Ektachrome

You see a creature that you think might be a person, but you would have to get closer. It could be an ambulatory pile of trash, like a shambling mound, maybe an elemental made from tailor's scraps.

Sometimes, a poorly executed Monday is written prescription for mediocrity. This was the case for me, this second week of June. Not that productivity in any way is or should be a measure of human excellence, but engaging with the world in that way feels much better to me than spending time as a vehicle of consumption, media or otherwise. I've spent a lot of time with physical exercise lately, and I think that sort of variety along with other context shifts are important for me to retain useful perspective on things, productivity related or not. Its high time for a safe vacation I think.

He looks human but deeply pale, like a grub — like a human for whom the sun is a memory at best.

This is the premium experience Howler can offer you, today. If you have interest in working on hacky, custom UDP protocol implementations, low-ish level audio programming, or Rust in general, please apply within.

Nearing completion of this teacup repair, the edge chip was mended with epoxy putty shaped to fit the recess, and epoxy was applied with a thin liner brush along the repaired joints. Using Maki-e 蒔絵 lacquer technique, gold dust was sprinkled onto the tacky adhesive resulting in a smooth, even application of the decorative metal. Once cured, the remaining dust will be cleaned, and the gold burnished.

"Once you become informed, you start seeing complexities and shades of grey. You realise that nothing is as clear and simple as it first appears. Ultimately, knowledge is paralysing." - Calvin A month ago I decided to try and get out of the reading slump I have been in - slump is a kind description for what has been a half-decade period of me not picking up a book. Within five minutes of this decision I became distracted by my phone and started scrolling through twitter. One of the trending topi...
