it's December 1st, aka BandCamp Friday, aka 1 month until the release of my new recording 1000 Days. January 1, 2024 is my 1000th day of sobriety- a milestone that becomes more and more meaningful to me as it approaches. With that in mind, I spent the earlier part of the autumn creating 8 pieces of music on my phone- some new recordings, some old tidbits that were on there from earlier in the year. I used a free video editing software to combine up to 3 different recordings per track. It is a bit of a departure from my more recent work, but is similar to Rubboard Sketches and Autumn Efforts. Both those previous releases were made during my active addiction, and I have very little memory of creating them. 1000 Days is a musical amends. It is up for presale today.
Deadlights:
With the help & encouragement of Leif Hunneman (aka State Vector Collapse & Semantichrist) I am throwing a New Year's Eve Noise Fest at Community of Sound called "Deadlights" (once again coopting marketing ideas from Burlington festivals/events that ignore non-mainstream art). The lineup is stacked. view the Facebook event here.
