here’s what i did: i unintentionally released 5 albums this year, and as tomorrow is 2024s last Bandcamp Friday, AND its time for end-of year lists and whatnot, I figured i’d highlight them for ya in order of release

1) 1000 Days

recorded in 2023, when I was just getting started recording on my phone, the pieces on 1000 Days feel rudimentary at this point. I intended this record as a musical amends, it was released on my 1000th day of sobriety, and memorializes all the cool sounds i could have been creating instead of drinking every day for decades.

2) Settled in the Head

also recorded in 2023, this is the last recording I did with the outside help of Adam Ploof, wh has recorded and edited and engineered my works for quite a long time now. these pieces are all centered around prepared gong, and the piece Settled in the Head is one of my favorite pieces to perform.

3) April

I did a mini tour of New England in the spring, and got 2 really great recordings of my washboard performances. I decided off-the-cuff to release this live album

4) Smallest Traces

With Smallest Traces, I began a process of recording and editing that i have continued to use in following releases. i create several tracks, and then edit those tracks several different ways to create pieces that are thematically similar, but very different. repetition and redundancy are used purposefully

5) Insect Asleep

thanks for all your support. every interaction between myself & an audience (even a newsletter audience) is important to me and keeps me wanting to create more and more. peace, fuck trump, queer the youth etc etc
