2023 hit it (r/l/D #4
I’m sitting here so close to the new year thinking about how in the last 24 hours I’ve seen three very serious and very desperate pleas from artists that I follow on social media about their well-being, about their depressions, their anxieties and their addictions and it makes me concerned and aware of how fragile life is, how fragile art is, how fragile the world is- and it makes me think about and be very appreciative of the fact that I have this music, I have this THING that I love to do that really takes up so much space in my mind and in my soul- that FILLS a lot of gaps that- were they empty- would be filled with negative things. 2023 is one more in a never ceasing flow of years that I vow to and intend to spend more time in nature, to spend more time with the things I love, to spend more time with the people I love, and to spend more time helping people either through music or with a smile or even a friendly nod
that’s all I have for this month friends. tell the people you love all about your love for them, Listen to As Much new music as you possibly can (I’ve been really digging on Tuvan and other forms of Asian throat singing- some of it traditional- some of it mixed with modern Western Metal and punk- it’s just amazing. my first real newsletter of the year will be on February 1st and I will talk then about relaunching my percussion series, about the release that I have coming out in February, and about what the future might hold thanks and I love you
