Do you want to find out more about author marketing?🧐
Hello,
If you're a writer and/or creative who wants to learn more about marketing; if you find most articles about marketing for creative spirits rather dodgy or sketchy or skeezy; if you want to understand how you might market without waves of disgust and imposter syndrome washing over you, then please consider subscribing to Holy Gusto Marketing's email newsletter.
Holy Gusto Marketing is my company, one I founded last year in the midst of the pandemic. I focus on a specialized niche of email marketing for authors and creators.
Why another newsletter? Good question. We're all inundated with them these days.
This one is different, I think. I'm biased, of course. But my newsletters will be short (probably fewer than 400 words) and incomplete and frequent. Each week day I'll publish one.
I seek to work through my own thoughts about author marketing. I have more than 15 years of experience publishing at Homofactus Press and 25 years writing for a variety of publications, and I've tried so many different methods, frameworks, and processes to increase book sales, gain exposures and/or land an agent, I'm sure I'd be at least USD 10,000 richer if I'd not followed the latest gurus down to the bottom of my wallet.
I seek to stake a claim in a territory unexplored by marketers, one without free books/giveaways, discounts, count down timers, or any of the typical doohickeys that drive author email marketing today.
I seek your feedback.
But I promise nothing. I offer my thoughts and speculations and crapshoots. There are almost no sure bets in email marketing, a practice where almost everything is a gamble, where winning isn't about numbers so much as human connections and humble attitudes.
