Surgery! Again!
I’m excited to announce that I will be getting a hysterectomy on January 15th. This will be the culmination of decades of desire; I have never wanted to have a uterus, and it has caused me an enormous amount of physical pain over the years.
It is a routine laproscopic surgery, and I feel confident in the surgical team by which I will be treated. That being said, it is a major surgery which requires 6+ weeks of healing. This means I will be completely offline for 2-3 weeks right after surgery, and cannot have penetration or lift anything heavier than 5lbs for 6 weeks, and then have to ease myself back into working out and penetration! Oof!
I’m not nervous about the surgery itself, but I know that recovery will be a mental challenge. I am active and independent by nature; being so limited is going to be hard for me. I know it will be worth it in the end though!
