One More Thing: Sammy Leggett
Each week, we offer the last word to a JMC student. This week’s One More Thing is from Sammy Leggett (PTCD & SRP), who is president of the W.E.B. DuBois Society and a treasurer of JMC Student Senate.

“The W.E.B Du Bois Society is one of MSU’s oldest Black student organizations. We serve as a home for Black Students in Public Policy, fostering community and professional growth. Our mission is to empower Black voices, advocate for equity and justice, and build pathways for future policy leaders. Each year, we host events that celebrate culture and encourage dialouge, such as our annual Black Day of Joy celebration. We have also partnered with JMC to host a tiny desk concert and a discussion on the pedagogy of protest music.
“We have General Body Meetings once a month in the Alex Haley Room located next to the JMC Library.”
