Madisonian Mention: Miah Gill
Each week, we highlight a JMC student. This week’s mention is first-year student Miah Gill!

“My name is Miah Gill, and I’m honored to be part of the James Madison College community. I serve as a student senator in JMC, the President of the Class of 2029, the Vice President of the Black Students’ Alliance (BSA) and Freshman Chair for the Dubois Society. Beyond JMC, I’m actively involved in student government, civic engagement and community organizing! I’ve served as a Finance Associate for the Michigan College Democrats and previously worked as a Field Organizer for the Michigan Democratic Party. My passions lie in public service, youth empowerment, and uplifting communities through education and advocacy. Throughout my career, I will never forget being awarded Outstanding Student of Michigan by Governor Whitmer, and when I traveled to El Distino, Nicaragua, to build a school in an effort to end global illiteracy!”
More from Miah:
Favorite Study Spot: South Case Lounge
Favorite Combo Place: Starbucks (especially in the fall)
Current Favorite Artist: Benson Boone (for his song Mystical Magic)
