Madisonian Mention: Macy Wheelock

Each week, we highlight a JMC student. This week’s mention is Macy Wheelock!

Macy Wheelock

“My name is Macy Wheelock, I'm a junior majoring in Political Theory and Constitutional Democracy and minoring in Sports Business Management! I am currently serving as the Secretary of the JMC Student Senate, and have also served as the Freshman Caucus Chair. Last year, I was also the Secretary of Case Hall Government. Beyond JMC and Case Hall, I am also currently a Fellow with a statewide nonprofit called For Michigan. I've been working with the organization for two political cycles now, and was fortunate enough to have been the Deputy Campus Organizer at MSU. In addition to my work with the organization, I've been volunteering in politics for over nine years! I started volunteering with my grandmother and her nonprofit, The Gathering Place, and have canvassed for Voters Not Politicians, the Montcalm County Democrats, and the Kent County Democrats. Alongside my volunteering efforts, I've found a passion in sports. I've worked for the Tigers' Single-A Affiliate Team, The West Michigan Whitecaps, for five seasons and also love playing sports, especially on the JMC Senate IM Teams!”
