Madisonian Mention: Gabriel Hoover
Each week, we highlight a JMC student. This week is Gabe Hoover! Gabriel is a Junior majoring in International Relations with minors in German, Business and STEPPs! Learn more about Gabe below:

“Hi everyone, my name is Gabriel Hoover. Within the field of International Relations, I am especially interested in learning about both domestic and international environmental issues. I had the privilege of participating in a study away program during the summer at Yellowstone National Park with roughly a dozen classmates. The course material and excursions were related to wilderness and wildlife management, which broadened my knowledge from the classroom to practical field applications, an aspect I greatly appreciate about JMC. Experiences like these, I feel, are crucial for understanding complex issues and the mindset of many stakeholders in regard to certain topics. Excluding my academic work, I am a member of the MSU Cheer team, president of the MSU Casual Lifting Club and a member of the JMC Student Senate. I'm a firm believer that a healthy body is a healthy mind, so in my free time I like to try and stay active; I enjoy weightlifting, hiking, wrestling, etc. I enjoy a good day's worth of work, playing sports, learning about history, watching movies, reading a good book and being around friends in every environment I'm in!”
Favorite Movie: When Harry Met Sally
Favorite Artists: Malcom Todd, Three 6 Mafia, The Red Clay Strays, Labi Siffre and Sierra Ferrell
Best Study Spot: Gatekeeping #1, but #2 is the 3rd floor NE corner of the library overlooking the Beaumont Tower and Museum.
Favorite JMC Class: MC 391, MC 111, MC 202.
