Fall 2025 Semester Enrollment

Enrollment for the fall semester will open on March 17, which makes now a great time to meet with your academic advisor to plan your schedule. View hours for express advising in Room S328 Case Hall or make an appointment:
Login to student.msu.edu and click on the “Academic Progress“ tile
Select “Advising/Tutoring Appointments” from the left navigation
Complete the required fields and review appointment information
Select “Book It!” to book your appointment
Students who would like to meet with Asst. Dean of Undergraduate Affairs Jeff Judge can schedule an appointment by contacting Kristie Hess (hessk1@msu.edu).
Events
Resistance – Ukrainian Art of Freedom Art Exhibition
Feb. 24, 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at Scene MetroSpace (110 Charles St. East Lansing, MI). This exhibition presents artistic reflections on the resistance to Russia’s war in Ukraine. Learn more via ArtsMSU

African-American Art and Activism: A Roundtable Discussion
Feb. 25, 4 to 6 p.m. in Club Spartan (338 Case Hall). Members of the Lansing hip-hop community will share their experiences and perspectives on art and activism. Ozay Moore, founder and executive director of Lansing’s All of the Above Hip-Hop Academy, will join musicians and Black MSU-affiliated artists Jahshua Smith and Jasmine Hamilton-Wray, among other guests, in this roundtable discussion. Peace Corps Prep Program & Recruiting Information Session

“From Ground Zero – Untold Stories from Gaza” Film Screening
Feb. 25, at 7:30 p.m. in Wells Hall (Room B122). Attend a screening of “From Ground Zero,” a film that features 22 Palestinian filmmakers telling stories of living through war in Gaza. Learn more via MSU OISS

Harmony in Diversity: Exploring Azerbaijan’s Jewish Heritage
Feb. 26, 5:45 p.m. in the International Center (Room 303). This event will feature a panel discussion and a documentary film dedicated to the rich Jewish heritage of Azerbaijan and Georgia. Learn more via JMC Events

Teach-In on the United States and Immigration
Feb. 27, 3 to 4 p.m. in Club Spartan. Unpack current and historical events related to immigration in the United States. This event will feature faculty panelists from James Madison College and MSU’s History and Sociology departments, and is open to the entire university community. Expertise on this panel ranges from historical to contemporary and addresses many different immigrant groups and issues.
JMC Political Theory Colloquium
Feb. 27, 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. in JMC Library (332 Case Hall). Attend the first meeting of the JMC Political Theory Colloquium to discuss Leonard Fleck’s paper Public Reason, Bioethics, and Public Policy: A Seductive Delusion or Ambitious Aspiration? The paper is presented and to be discussed in the context of Professor Fleck’s ongoing book project. Learn more via JMC
JMC Open Mic Night
March 12, 6 p.m. in the JMC Library (332 Case Hall). Students, faculty and staff are invited to attend a night of music, poetry and performance. JMC Research Showcase
The 2025 James Madison College Research Showcase will be held on Friday, April 25, in the JMC Library. This event is an opportunity to showcase your scholarship and creative activity from JMC/MSU classes. Madison students interested in participating are invited to submit an abstract of research by Friday, March 14.
ASMSU General Assembly
Interested in representing JMC and advocating for students? The General Assembly of the Associated Students of Michigan State University (ASMSU) is the legislative body representing undergraduate students by introducing debates and votes on issues. Election packets for Spring elections are now open! Candidates must submit a brief bio and gather the required number of signatures by March 17 at 4:30 p.m. Access the election packet to apply and learn more via 2025 Spring GA Election Form

JMC Community Counselor: Drop-In Counseling
CAPS Connect will be back in Case Hall every Monday (1:30 to 3:30 p.m.) this semester! CAPS Connect provides a place to talk about what's on your mind during a brief, free, confidential conversation with a CAPS counselor. It is a great way to receive one-time support and expert suggestions, or get to know CAPS staff and the services available to you. To sign up and see all location/scheduling options, click here.
JMC Career Peers Office Hours
JMC’s Career Peers, Taylor Toth (PTCD, SRP '26) and Justina Giglio (SRP '25) hold weekly office hours in Case Hall. Schedule a meeting with them through Handshake or email jm.career@msu.edu with questions on resumes, cover letters, internships, interviews and law/grad school applications. Spring Semester office hours are Mondays and Wednesdays, 2 to 4 p.m., and Thursdays from 12:30 to 4:30 p.m.
JMC Express Academic Advising
Need to meet with an academic advisor? JMC’s Advising Center in 328 South Case Hall is open daily for express drop-in advising:
Monday-Thursday: 12:30 to 4 p.m.
Friday: 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Education Abroad & Field Experience Scholarships

Applications for the JMC Education Abroad and Field Experience Scholarships are now open. Students who are participating in an education abroad program for Summer or Fall 2025 or are planning to do their field experience (internship for credit via MC 400/401) in Summer 2025 are eligible to apply.
The application deadline is Feb. 28 for both applications. You do not need to be accepted into an education abroad program or internship at the time of your application, but you need to list the programs/internships you've applied to. Recipients are also expected to complete a Letter of Acknowledgement to the scholarship donor.

Spring 2025 Graduation Information
Graduating this spring? Below are important dates and deadlines you should know:
JMC's Spring 2025 Commencement Ceremony will be held on Saturday, May 3, at 12:30 p.m. in the Wharton Center.
Graduates should apply to graduate in SIS by Feb. 28, 2025 to ensure their names are included in the commencement program. Be sure to check your FERPA restrictions in SIS to ensure your name will print in the program.
JMC graduates interested in serving as the college's Spring Commencement student speaker can apply via Qualtrics by Feb. 28, 2025.
Graduates must also register to participate in JMC's Commencement Ceremony via Eventbrite by April 18, 2025.
