One More Thing

Each week, we offer the last word to a JMC student. This week’s One More Thing is from Kiera Tierney (IR ‘25):

“I joined the Center for Community and Economic Development in February 2024 and collaborate on the Circular Economy Faculty Network under the guidance of Dr. LaMore to advance the Circular Economy Initiative. I am committed to sustainable practices, recognizing their critical importance to the well-being of both our community and the environment. I view students and universities as powerful advocates for meaningful change and am excited to be a part of this significant movement towards circularity.

“On behalf of our MSU Circular Economy Faculty Network, we would like to extend a special invitation to the Fall Networking Forum on Nov. 14 from 4 to 5:30 p.m. in the Lake Huron Room on the 3rd floor of the Union Building. As part of the University’s commitment to sustainability and innovation, this forum will focus on strengthening our efforts to foster cross-campus and community collaboration to advance circular research, outreach, and education at MSU.

“This event is the second in a series of informal discussions we have hosted on campus with our MSU Circular Economy Faculty Network around the topic of circular economy. This fall forum is a unique opportunity for faculty and students to engage and learn more about the progress environmental organizations and policymakers are making to advance waste reduction and to inquire about what waste/environmental public policy proposals are being considered at the state level.

“We are hosting this free event for practitioners, faculty, and students to strengthen efforts to foster university/community collaboration to advance recycling and the circular material economy in our state. Register to attend via Qualtrics.”
