MDARD Internship Marketing Internships Opportunity
This Lansing-based paid internship with the Michigan Department of Agriculture and Rural Development will run May 12-Aug. 29, 2025 (option for hybrid work). Interns will:

  • Provide assistance in organizing and planning international marketing activities to promote Michigan agricultural products to the world.

  • Contact Michigan food and agriculture exporters to ensure company information is accurate and complete for the International Marketing Program’s database.

  • Contact Michigan companies to recruit them for various international marketing activities.

  • Author content to promote activities and programs offered by the International Marketing Program and Food Export Association of the Midwest through social media and e-newsletters.

  • Write success stories on Michigan companies that have participated in programs and services offered by Food Export Association of the Midwest.

TurnUp Your Activism: Remote Internship 
Have a passion for youth civic engagement and looking for community service hours or course credit? TurnUp is a non-partisan non-profit organization dedicated to increasing youth civic education, empowerment and activism. TurnUp is currently seeking an unpaid remote intern or volunteer to join a team of mission-driven young people from all around the United States to help amplify youth civic engagement and participate in activism on issues you care about. Internships with Congressman Tom Barrett

City of East Lansing: Placemaking Internship 
Interested in planning, building and development? This opportunity will provide experience in the areas of community engagement opportunities, infrastructure management, event management, assisting with innovative placemaking programing and more. With a salary of $15/hour, hours will vary weekly with approximately 20 hours worked per week starting May 5, 2025, through Aug. 29, 2025. Apply by March 21. City of East Lansing: Marketing and Advertising Internship 
The City of East Lansing is seeking interns to fulfill their internship with the focus of promoting East Lansing’s downtown through various marketing and creative placemaking efforts. Interns in this position will work to assist the Downtown Management Board in developing and implementing strategies to market, advertise and promote downtown East Lansing area and businesses. Hours will vary weekly with an average of 20 hours worked per week starting May through August with a salary of $15/hour. Apply by March 21. Learn more and apply via City of East Lansing website 

Career Services Internship Opportunity Award
The MSU Career Services Internship Opportunity Award program is now accepting applications. Any undergraduate student who is actively pursuing, or has secured, an unpaid summer internship is welcome to apply. While preference will be given based on financial need and other considerations, internship locations anywhere in the U.S. are eligible. Apply by April 6. Daniel Rosenthal Legislative Intern Award 
Currently an intern with the Michigan Legislative (House or Senate) or have completed a Michigan Legislative Internship in the 2024 calendar year? Consider applying to the Daniel Rosenthal Legislative Intern award. This award will be given to a winner and runners-up who will be chosen from the group of nominees. A luncheon will be held April 24 to announce winners and runners-up. Apply by April 10. Apply and learn more via JMC Website 

Guyer Public Policy Internship Award 
Secured a Summer 2025 internship in public policy? Undergraduate students of any major are eligible to receive scholarships in the Guyer Public Policy Internship Program. Students must arrange to be employed in a public policy-related internship and enroll for MSU internship credit. Scholarships of at least $1,000 will be applicable towards students' tuition. Students receiving the scholarship are expected to participate in Guyer program activities, including the mandatory orientation session on May 5 at 5:30 p.m. via Zoom. Apply by April 11. Teach For America
Fall 2025 Ignite Fellowship: Ignite fellows lead a small group of virtual learning with the support of a veteran educator. This is a part-time fellowship as a tutor in elementary reading, middle school math, and high school college and career readiness. Individuals are expected to work 3-5 hours per week and receive up to $1,2000 for each term. Apply by April 30. 

DREAM Project Fellowship 
Ready to make a lasting impact while developing valuable professional skills? The DREAM Fellowship Program offers a unique opportunity to work in the Dominican Republic, empowering students and shaping communities. As a Fellow, you’ll engage in teaching, program development, and leadership while gaining hands-on experience in the non-profit sector. This year-long program provides an enriching way to grow both personally and professionally. The fellow term is set to start Aug. 11, 2025, through Aug. 7, 2026. Apply by June 15. Learn more and apply via DREAM Project Website 

Allen Neighborhood Center: Fellowships 
ANC is a place-based non-profit organization that serves as a hub for neighborhood revitalization and activities that promote the health and well-being of Lansing’s Eastside community. ANC is currently seeking students to fill their Fall 2025 paid fellowship positions. Each position will be 15 hours a week with a salary of $12.48/hour if the student qualifies for work study. Students who do not qualify for work study will receive a $650 stipend. Applications due July 13.  

  • Community Farming Fellow: Great for students interested in learning about a natural, sustainable and local farm located in the heart of East Lansing. 

  • Community Engagement and Advocacy Fellow: Great for students interested in community outreach. Hosting events, assisting neighbors with things they need and running fun programs. 

  • Event Coordination Fellow: Fellows will assist Kitchen Managers with booking, invoicing, coordinating and executing events.  

  • Veggie Box Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) Fellow: Fellows will assist in the development and production of Veggie Box (a subscription of local foods), manage relationships with local farmers and more. 

  • Food Pantry and Farmers Market Fellowship: A fit for those interested in food pantry and farmer market management, marketing, and communications. Fellows will engage with the community, grow participation via social media, and more.  

  • Youth Programs Fellowship: Great for students who enjoy working with the youth. Fellows will assist with the running and development of Youth Programs, consisting of educating them on gardening, nutrition, and life-skills.
