Teach For America: Three Ways to Make an Impact
Teach For America is seeking individuals to join and help students discover their potential and equip them with the tools they need to succeed. 

  • Breakthrough Collaborative Teaching Fellowship: Breakthrough Teaching Fellows are committed to personal growth, education equity, and developing as leaders and learners. This opportunity is a paid in-person summer teaching opportunity open to undergraduates in any year and major. Apply by Feb. 29.

  • 2025 Teacher Corps: Great for recent graduates looking to make an impact. Corps members teach full time for at least two years in underserved schools. Positions are full-time by school or district with full salary and benefits. Choose from nearly 40 regions. Apply by March 10. 

  • Fall 2025 Ignite Fellowship: Ignite fellows lead a small group of virtual learning with the support of a veteran educator. This is a part-time fellowship as a tutor in elementary reading, middle school math, and high school college and career readiness. Individuals are expected to work 3-5 hours per week and receive up to $1,2000 for each term. Apply by April 30. 

Carter Center Internships
The Carter Center is an organization founded by Jimmy and Rosalynn Carter on the commitment to human rights and the alleviation of suffering, seeking to prevent and resolve conflicts, enhancing freedom and democracy. The Carter Center is currently offering a paid 10-week summer internship under their peace and health programs, or operations. Interns work 20 hours per week with a stipend of $3,400. Greater Lansing Food Bank: Garden Project Summer Internship Greater Lansing Food Bank (GLFB) is a non-profit organization that provides food assistance to individuals and families in need. GLFB is hosting a three-month internship experience at a community-centered resource center and urban demonstration garden. This opportunity includes a one-time stipend and opportunity to earn college credit in affiliation with an educational institution. The internship will take place between mid-May through mid-August. Work hours are 10-15/week. The location of work is 2401 Marcus St. in Lansing. Apply by March 6. Hall Render Legal Internship 
Interested in law and interning for the largest full-service law firm in the U.S.? Hall Render is seeking interns to gain valuable experiences in various aspects of legal work, including researching and writing projects, client meetings and firm administration. Interns will be expected to work part-time, approximately 25 hours per week with a compensation of $20-25/hour. Apply by March 7. Learn more and apply via Hall Render Website 

Visiting International Professional Program: Cultural Ambassador Assistantship  
The Visiting International Professional Program (VIPP) at MSU is excited to host international summer programs again on campus this July. To enhance the learning experience and cultural exposure for students, VIPP is seeking to recruit MSU students to take part in the program as cultural ambassadors and class assistants. If selected, assistants must participate in some class activities with up to 40 hours per week working including weekends and evenings. Apply by March 10. Learn more and apply via MSU Qualtrics Form

Community Engagement Scholars Program
The MSU Community Engagement Scholars Program is now accepting applications for the 2025-26 academic year! This initiative, offered by the Center for Community Engaged Learning and the MSU Office of the President, provides students with the opportunity to collaborate with Michigan-based community organizations on meaningful projects. Time commitment is 15 hours/week from August 2025 to April 2026. Education stipend/project page: approximately $2,500/semester. View full position description and apply via Qualtrics by March 12.

MSU College Advising Corps: College Advisor Opportunity 
The MSU College Advising Corps (MSUCAC) is hiring for the 2025-2026 cohort. MSU graduates and soon-to-be graduates can serve as College Advisers in Michigan high schools, helping students transition to post-secondary education. This gap year opportunity offers training, AmeriCorps membership and a $7,395 education award. Apply by March 14. Learn more and apply via MSUCAC Interest Form 

MSU College Advising Corps: Peer College Advisor Position 
Graduating soon or interested in staying involved during your gap year? Have a passion for college and helping others navigate their journey? MSUCAC is seeking applicants to be near-peer college advisors. Make a difference, earn a $7,395 education award and have full health benefits. Allen Neighborhood Center: Summer 2025 Paid Internships
Allen Neighborhood Center is a place-based, non-profit organization that serves as a hub for neighborhood revitalization and for activities that promote the health and well-being of Lansing’s Eastside community. Applications are now open (see opportunities below) for Summer 2025 internships. Each position will be 15 hours per week, and be paid at $10.33 only if the student qualifies for work study. If they don't qualify for work study, they will be paid a $650 stipend. Applications for all positions due March 16.

  • Community Farming Fellow: Great for students looking to work and learn about an all natural, sustainable, and local farm located directly in the heart of the Eastside community.

  • Community Engagement and Advocacy Fellow: Fellows will support our neighbors in a variety of ways, from signing them up for food stamps to providing information on affordable housing, to being their advocate when facing a challenge from a utility.

  • Event Coordination Fellow: Fellows will assist ANC Incubator and Accelerator Kitchen Managers with booking, invoicing, coordination and execution of events, and create and develop marketing content for Kitchen Program and public events.

  • Veggie Box Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) Fellow: Fellows will assist in the development and promotion of Veggie Box, manage relationships with local farmers and members, and support other areas as needed.

  • Food Pantry and Farmers Market Fellowship: An excellent fit for those interested in food pantry and farmers market management, marketing, communications, community development and/or financials/bookkeeping.

  • Youth Programs Fellowship: Our Youth Programs are free, offer job and life skills experience, and provide gardening and nutrition education. Fellows assist with the running and development of the program, and must enjoy working with kids.

City of East Lansing: Placemaking Internship 
Interested in planning, building and development? The City of East Lansing is seeking interns to fulfill their Placemaking Internship. This opportunity will provide experience in the areas of community engagement opportunities, infrastructure management, event management, assisting with innovative placemaking programing and more. With a salary of $15/hour, hours will vary weekly with approximately 20 hours worked per week starting May 5, 2025, through Aug. 29, 2025. Apply by March 21. City of East Lansing: Marketing and Advertising Internship 
The City of East Lansing is seeking interns to fulfill their internship with the focus of promoting East Lansing’s downtown through various marketing and creative placemaking efforts. Interns in this position will work to assist the Downtown Management Board in developing and implementing strategies to market, advertise, and promote the downtown East Lansing area and businesses.
