Organization of American States 2025 Summer Internship Program
OAS is the main political forum of the region that promotes and supports democracy, human rights, security and integral development of the Americas. JMC Communications Assistant
JMC is seeking a Madison student who is interested in social media and passionate about the college to join its communications team. The Communications & Marketing Student Assistant will brainstorm and create content that is shared on JMC’s social media platforms and help update the college’s student newsletter and events calendar. Carter Center Internships
The Carter Center is an organization founded by Jimmy and Rosalynn Carter on commitment to human rights and the alleviation of suffering, seeking to prevent and resolve conflicts, enhancing freedom and democracy. The Carter Center is currently offering a paid 10-week summer internship under their peace and health programs, or operations. Interns work 20 hours per week with a stipend of $3,400. Visiting International Professional Program: Cultural Ambassador Assistantship
VIPP is hosting international summer programs again on campus this July. To enhance the learning experience and cultural exposure for students, VIPP is seeking MSU students to take part in the program as Cultural Ambassadors and Class Assistants. Allen Neighborhood Center: Summer 2025 Paid Internships
Allen Neighborhood Center is a place-based, non-profit organization that serves as a hub for neighborhood revitalization and for activities that promote the health and well-being of Lansing’s Eastside community. Applications are now open (see opportunities below) for Summer 2025 internships. Each position will be 15 hours per week, and be paid at $10.33 only if the student qualifies for work study. If they don't qualify for work study, they will be paid a $650 stipend. Applications for all positions due March 16.
Community Farming Fellow: Great for students looking to work and learn about an all natural, sustainable, and local farm located directly in the heart of the Eastside community.
Community Engagement and Advocacy Fellow: Fellows will support our neighbors in a variety of ways, from signing them up for food stamps to providing information on affordable housing, to being their advocate when facing a challenge from a utility.
Event Coordination Fellow: Fellows will assist ANC Incubator and Accelerator Kitchen Managers with booking, invoicing, coordination and execution of events, and create and develop marketing content for Kitchen Program and public events.
Veggie Box Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) Fellow: Fellows will assist in the development and promotion of Veggie Box, manage relationships with local farmers and members, and support other areas as needed.
Food Pantry and Farmers Market Fellowship: An excellent fit for those interested in food pantry and farmers market management, marketing, communications, community development and/or financials/bookkeeping.
Youth Programs Fellowship: Our Youth Programs are free, offer job and life skills experience, and provide gardening and nutrition education. Fellows assist with the running and development of the program, and must enjoy working with kids.
City of East Lansing: Placemaking Internship
Interested in planning, building and development? The City of East Lansing is seeking interns to fulfill their Placemaking Internship. This opportunity will provide experience in the areas of community engagement opportunities, infrastructure management, event management, assisting with innovative placemaking programing and more. With a salary of $15/hour, hours will vary weekly with approximately 20 hours worked per week starting May 5, 2025, through Aug. 29, 2025. Apply by March 21. City of East Lansing: Marketing and Advertising Internship
The City of East Lansing is seeking interns to fulfill their internship with the focus of promoting East Lansing’s downtown through various marketing and creative placemaking efforts. Interns in this position will work to assist the Downtown Management Board in developing and implementing strategies to market, advertise, and promote the downtown East Lansing area and businesses. Greater Lansing Food Bank: Garden Project Summer Internship Greater Lansing Food Bank (GLFB) is a non-profit organization that provides food assistance to individuals and families in need. GLFB is hosting a 3-month internship experience at a community centered resource center and urban demonstration garden. This opportunity includes a one-time stipend and opportunity to earn college credit in affiliation with an educational institution. The internship will take place between mid-May through mid-August. Work hours are 10-15/week. The location of work is 2401 Marcus St., Lansing MI 48912. Apply by April 1. Education Abroad & Field Experience Scholarships
Applications for the JMC Education Abroad and Field Experience Scholarships are now open. Students who are participating in an education abroad program for Summer or Fall 2025 or are planning to do their field experience (internship for credit via MC 400/401) in Summer 2025 are eligible to apply.
The application deadline is Feb. 28 for both applications. You do not need to be accepted into an education abroad program or internship at the time of your application, but you need to list the programs/internships you've applied to. Recipients are also expected to complete a Letter of Acknowledgement to the scholarship donor.
