Paid Campaign Internship
Join Lansing Mayor Andy Schor’s re-election campaign as a paid, part-time field intern this summer and fall. Gain hands-on experience in voter outreach, campaign software and local politics. Interns work 15–20 hours per week, primarily canvassing in Lansing. Open to all majors. This is a nonpartisan position, no political experience needed. The internship concludes Nov. 4. 

Crane Consulting: Campaign Internship 
Crane Consulting is seeking passionate interns to support Democratic candidates at all levels of government. Led by finance consultant Megan Crane, interns will gain hands-on experience in fundraising, donor research, event planning, social media and more. The internship is flexible, requiring about 12 hours a week and can be remote or hybrid. Start date and duration are also flexible. CSIS Careers: Summer 2025 Internship Opportunities 
CSIS is a bipartisan, nonprofit organization headquartered in Washington, D.C. Full-time staff and affiliated scholars conduct research and analysis and develop policy initiatives to look to the future. Michigan Senate Internships 
The Michigan Senate is now accepting applications for its paid Summer 2025 Internship Program, focused on promoting diversity and equity. Interns must be 18+, in good academic standing, able to work 10–20 hours/week in Lansing and pass a background check. Learn more and apply via Senate Internship Interest Form

City of East Lansing: Community Engagement Internship 
The East Lansing Downtown development authority is offering a paid summer internship $15/hour from May 5–Aug. 29, 2025. Interns will support community events, placemaking, and public engagement, with required availability Thursday evenings and occasional weekends. Applicants must have a high school diploma and strong communication skills. Apply by April 21. City of East Lansing: Marketing and Advertising Internship 
The East Lansing Downtown Management Board (DMB) is offering a paid internship of $15/hour in marketing, communications, event planning and placemaking. Interns will support social media, branding and downtown events. The role averages 20 hours/week in summer and 12 during the school year, with required Thursday evening shifts (May 8 to Aug. 7, except June 19) and occasional weekends. Teach For America
Fall 2025 Ignite Fellowship: Ignite fellows lead a small group of virtual learning with the support of a veteran educator. This is a part-time fellowship as a tutor in elementary reading, middle school math, and high school college and career readiness. Individuals are expected to work 3-5 hours per week and receive up to $1,2000 for each term. Apply by April 30. 

Capital Area Literacy Coalition: Summer 2025 Internship 
The Capital Area Literacy Coalition is offering in-person summer internships in Lansing from May 12 to August 15. Interns can focus on education (working with adult learners), writing (grants and newsletters) or non-profit administration. The position offers flexible scheduling Monday–Thursday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. This position is unpaid. Interns will gain valuable hands-on experience and receive a letter of recommendation upon completion. This is a great opportunity to develop professional skills while supporting literacy in the community. Apply by May 17 via Handshake

DREAM Project Fellowship 
Ready to make a lasting impact while developing valuable professional skills? The DREAM Fellowship Program offers a unique opportunity to work in the Dominican Republic, empowering students and shaping communities. As a Fellow, you’ll engage in teaching, program development and leadership while gaining hands-on experience in the non-profit sector. This year-long program provides an enriching way to grow both personally and professionally. The fellow term is set to start Aug. 11, 2025, through Aug. 7, 2026. Apply by June 15. Learn more and apply via DREAM Project Website 

Allen Neighborhood Center: Fellowships 
ANC is a place-based non-profit organization that serves as a hub for neighborhood revitalization and activities that promote the health and well-being of Lansing’s Eastside community. ANC is currently seeking students to fill their Fall 2025 paid fellowship positions. Each position will be 15 hours a week with a salary of $12.48/hour if the student qualifies for work study. Students who do not qualify for work study will receive a $650 stipend. Applications due July 13.  

  • Community Farming Fellow: Great for students interested in learning about a natural, sustainable and local farm located in the heart of East Lansing. 

  • Community Engagement and Advocacy Fellow: Great for students interested in community outreach. Hosting events, assisting neighbors with things they need and running fun programs. 

  • Event Coordination Fellow: Fellows will assist Kitchen Managers with booking, invoicing, coordinating and executing events.  

  • Veggie Box Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) Fellow: Fellows will assist in the development and production of Veggie Box (a subscription of local foods), manage relationships with local farmers and more. 

  • Food Pantry and Farmers Market Fellowship: A fit for those interested in food pantry and farmer market management, marketing, and communications. Fellows will engage with the community, grow participation via social media, and more.  

  • Youth Programs Fellowship: Great for students who enjoy working with the youth. Fellows will assist with the running and development of Youth Programs, consisting of educating them on gardening, nutrition, and life-skills.  

MDARD Internship Marketing Internships Opportunity
This Lansing-based paid internship with the Michigan Department of Agriculture and Rural Development will run May 12-Aug. 29, 2025 (option for hybrid work). Interns will:

  • Provide assistance in organizing and planning international marketing activities to promote Michigan agricultural products to the world.

  • Contact Michigan food and agriculture exporters to ensure company information is accurate and complete for the International Marketing Program’s database.

  • Contact Michigan companies to recruit them for various international marketing activities.

  • Author content to promote activities and programs offered by the International Marketing Program and Food Export Association of the Midwest through social media and e-newsletters.

  • Write success stories on Michigan companies that have participated in programs and services offered by Food Export Association of the Midwest.
