Learn more about Suri below!

“Hi everyone, my name is Suri Peng, and I am a freshman majoring in Neuroscience and Comparative Cultures and Politics! I hope to pursue a career revolving around advocacy and am especially interested in research about sleep and sleep disorders. I serve as a Freshman Caucus member on JMC Student Senate, but I’ve also been privileged to be a part of so many unique experiences across campus this year that have shaped my freshman experience!”
“I am currently an intern for APASO (Asian Pacific American Student Organization), where I’ve been able to learn about APASO’s impact across campus and help execute its student events! Additionally, I am a part of the Asian Interest Sorority, aKDPhi, where I am currently a fundraising chair! We are a part of the Multicultural Greek Council, where I will be serving as the Vice President of Philanthropy in the following year. Especially at a school where the Asian American population is pretty small, I want to be intentional with where I am putting my involvement into ensuring that I can contribute to making our impact reach all aspects of campus! I am also a resident of Hubbard Hall, where I am the president of our Hall Government. We recently had a DIY slime de-stresser event. Alongside my involvement across campus, I love traditional fan and hat dancing, and I was lucky enough to perform a fan dance with the Vietnamese Student Association for their annual banquet a couple of weeks ago! For me, when college gets stressful, I need ways to help de-stress outside of my phone, and I’ve found that hobbies like fan dancing, making slime or yoga have helped me maintain a healthy mindset.”
