The Reality of Summers for me
Summer is always an interesting time here in Pogradec. It feels like so much happens, but also nothing at all. Day to day life is busy with this that or the other thing, but at the end of it all, I don’t have much video footage to show for it.
I’ve spent much of the last few months volunteering to photograph various children’s camps, and due to privacy issues I chose not to film anything there. I also decided it wasn’t necessary to speak about in my videos as it doesn’t play much of a role in the storylines of my life. But a week long camp here and there over a couple months, mixed with meeting some Americans that were here on a short term mission trip and spending time with them, there wasn’t much time left to be making videos. I was too busy living my normal summer life to be able to document every moment.
Thankfully, a few more interesting things took place and I naturally recorded those so that I could put together the next installment of my life. I suspect as we move into autumn and there is less spontaneous hanging out at the beach with friends, I will be able to focus more on documenting daily life. But in the meantime, enjoy this update from the last month or so.
Thanks for sticking with me. I’ll be back soon! (Sooner than last time, I hope.)
