The Busiest Time of Year...
The last three weeks have been busy. As you’ll see if you watch the video at the end of this update.) But despite being busy and filled to the brim with side projects - as well as main projects - it’s helped understand yet again that this style and direction of video that I started back in September is perfect for this stage of my life.
Before September, I would rely on motivation or particularly interesting storylines to make videos. And while it was fun making those videos in whatever style I felt like on any given day, it made it really difficult to have any level of consistency. By switching to documenting mundaneness of every day life I no longer need to have a specific video idea start to finish. It doesn’t matter how busy I am, I document moments that I can and using a voiceover and editing I piece together a video.
I also realized that every little thing in the videos doesn’t have to wrap up by the end. I’m not making a movie, I’m putting out episodes of a series. So while some storylines will be wrapped in a single video, there are other storylines that are progressing through the different episodes.
And that’s why I love this. It’s sustainable. And it’s enjoyable for me to be doing. Both in the moment, and in the long term. Because I can look back at my life in two or three weeks segments and be reminded of all the good, bad, and ugly that happened during that time.
So with that being said, here’s an accurate representation of the last few weeks.
Thanks for sticking with me. I’ll be back soon.
