Quick Trip to Germany
Ultimately, I don’t care about the view counts of my posts - be it Instagram, YouTube, or whatever else. For me, that’s more of an indication about how well the algorithm is doing than how good the piece of content is.
That being said, when I’ve been on a roll with my videos bringing in a decent number of views, it hurts when one doesn’t.
I’m not reliant on it financially, but it shows how many of my viewers are there only for the Albania side of things and how few actually care about my personal journey.
There are a number of you, though, that will watch a video no matter if I’m in Albania, the United States, or Germany. And those are the kinds of people I want in this community.
Views will always come and go, and that’s why I’ve done my best to disconnect the views from how good the work is.
As someone who wants to make my main income from Youtube (and Youtube-adjacent things, like Patreon), the views are a bit necessary for a stable income. But I refuse to let that dictate what kind of content I produce.
So, for now, you get a video from Germany. Whether or not the general masses will watch it. I can’t leave out chapters of my story just because they may not be interesting to other people.
That kind of goes against everything I’m trying to do: find beauty in the mundane.
