House-sitting in an Albanian Village
I've decided to take my art in a new direction. And it's hard for me to find the right words. Up until now, one of the questions I would ask myself before making a video on YouTube was, "What can the viewer learn about Albania in this video?" But I found that I was working myself into a corner. I was feeling like I couldn't make anything if it wasn't specifically about Albania - tourism information, history facts, etc.
Well, after some fantastic conversations with other creatives, and a long time spent thinking and searching, I think I've settled on where I want to go from here. Basically, I am going to be documenting my life, and doing my best to make art out of it.
I do not live a glamorous life by any means. What I can offer, however, is an inside look into the life of an "everyman." It's just me, James, doing my best to show that there can be beauty in the mundane.
So I present you the first step in that direction. In which, I begin a long house-sit for some friends of mine. I introduce some storylines into the narrative that have been floating around in the background of my life a bit up until this point, but now they are in the foreground. Hope you enjoy. I can't wait to share this journey.
