Autumn in a Small Town

One October, about 7 or 8 years ago, I took a short road trip through New England with one of my brothers. To this day, I haven’t seen fall foliage that colorful or vibrant.

Autumn in Pogradec is strange, because everything seems to jump from late summer to winter in the blink of an eye. The leaves tend to fall off the trees before they have a chance to fully show off what they’re capable of. So when I walk around town I do my best to catch a glimpse of any yellow or orange leaves.

Last year around this time I was housesitting and walking an hour into town every day to go to the gym, so looking at the way the trees changed was much easier.

Now, I spend my time staring into the depths of a screen for hours on end until the sun has set and it’s time to walk to basketball practice.

I’m hoping to make some shifts in the day-to-day so that I can be soaking in what little sunshine there is, but until then I guess it’s the desk chair.

My days are boring. My days are monotonous. My days are ordinary. So this most recent update is much of the same. Nothing exciting, nothing groundbreaking, nothing magical. Other than the simple magic of every day life.

Thanks for sticking with me. I’ll be back soon.
